8 SEO Techniques to Increase Your Organic Traffic In 2021

  • Comments Off on 8 SEO Techniques to Increase Your Organic Traffic In 2021

Setting up a website for your business and maintaining can be costly and challenging. What’s even harder is boosting your online visibility without the use of paid ads. There is only one way to increase your organic traffic – leading users to your domain through search engine optimization (SEO) techniques.

These SEO techniques help your site appear on the search engine results pages (SERPs) of users actively searching for your product or service. Keep on reading to discover these techniques on how to do them.

1. Improve the user experience on your entire site

Update your website’s overall look to prevent users from bouncing back to their SERP. Use a more trendy or modern design. Websites that take too long to load, appear basic, and look outdated are more likely to make users backtrack and click on another search result.

2. Optimize your site for voice search

Many people around the world use voice search now due to the wide availability of smart speakers. Instead of optimizing your site for short-tail keywords like “aquascaping tips”, go for long ones like “what is needed to aquascape?”

3. Optimize your favicon

Favicons are icons that are associated with URLs. It’s important that you optimize your site’s favicon to increase its legitimate look on a SERP. The more legitimate your page looks like on the SERP, the higher it influences click-through rates, especially if the icon is in high contrast.

4. Optimize breadcrumbs in your site

Breadcrumbs appear on SERPS as well right below the title of your content and the name of your site. They give users a sense that your site is the right place to go because of the intricate trail of categories that appear.

To make sure search engines display breadcrumbs to the topic of interest in your site on their results page, you must have actual breadcrumbs on your webpage with links.

5. Complete your Google My Business profile

The more information you give Google about your business, the easier it is for its algorithm to make you appear on the first SERP. It’s easy to complete your profile. You’ll need to provide your business’s name, address, and phone number.

State your operating hours and enter your website’s URL. Don’t forget to make your site belong to relevant business categories. Then, provide a brief description of what your company does and why it’s unique. Lastly, upload photos relative to your business.

6. Target long-tail keywords first

Aside from the fact that long-tail keywords are very specific in making your content appear on a SERP, there is also less competition to make it rank higher on the page. Optimizing for long-tail keyword searches works best for websites that aren’t built to a highly competitive level yet.

7. Design your site for mobile-first

Site visitors using their phones will find it irritating to browse content with irregularly arranged elements. Your site must be optimized to be mobile-first. That means it should automatically adjust its front-end appearance based on the user’s device. A website not optimized to be mobile-friendly will only cause its visitors to bounce back and click another result on their SERP.

8. Focus on topic clusters

Topic clusters help increase your organic traffic by linking your content to a broad topic being searched for on the web through keyword(s). For example, if your website content is about homeownership, create a category about landscaping and write various articles about it.

A few examples would be landscaping ideas, tools to use for landscaping, flowers for landscaping, or rocks for landscaping. Notice how often I mentioned landscaping? That’s because landscaping is the pillar content and the ideas, rocks, and flowers are just cluster contents.

The more cluster content you have, the higher the chances your website appears on a SERP of its pillar topic. And this influences higher click-through rates.

Write down these SEO techniques for next week’s to-do list. But first, learn how to do them properly by doing more research. It might be hard for you to do but mastering SEO is worth it. It’s one of the cost-effective ways to increase your business’s online exposure!
