WiFi Marketing: How to Use it to Attract Customers Into Your Store

  • Comments Off on WiFi Marketing: How to Use it to Attract Customers Into Your Store

Wifi marketing is a marketing strategy that has been going on for a long time now. It’s commonly used by malls, groceries, and standalone boutiques. Yet it’s still undervalued by small and medium-sized businesses.

No, I’m not referring to the act of setting up an internet connection in your shop for business and customer use alone. I’m talking about adding more features to improve buying experience and opening up opportunities for product promotions.

To know more about how to do WiFi marketing, read until the end.

1. Choose a wifi marketing service

Unlike email marketing where you can create campaigns without extensive technical knowledge, WiFi marketing requires a lot of IT skills. It’s best that you employ the services of platforms like Cloud4wi, Yelp WiFi, and Spectrio for network configurations.

2. Set your shop network up

Wifi marketing services can’t do anything if you have no internet connection in your store. You must contact an ISP of your choice to create a network for your shop. If you already have one, it’s best to upgrade the data speed to handle the needs of multiple customers at once.

3. Let your sign be highly visible to passersby

Nowadays, having WiFi in your shop is more of a way to improve customer service rather than a luxury. And customers would prefer to know about its availability by seeing it through your shop’s window rather than enter the premises and ask you or your staff personally.

4. Make the login process contactless and easy

Since we’re still living in a pandemic era, social distancing and hygiene should be observed. Instead of passing a small piece of paper or telling the password to customers who ask, write the password on a board or provide a QR code for customers to scan. The best thing about this strategy is that it also adds customer convenience in a post-COVID world.

5. Collect customer data

Free WiFi comes at a price. After your customers have typed in the password you’ve provided, finalize the log-in by asking them to enter their personal information. It can be their email address, phone number, or login via social media account.

6. Advertise your goods

The customer data you’ve collected will help you send SMS, email, or social media campaigns when you need to promote your goods. But don’t settle for that strategy alone, include product promotions on the welcome page after the customer WiFi login has been completed.

7. Keep your customers updated on what’s new

Aside from product promotions, use the customer data you’ve gathered to send event notifications from your store such as sales, contests, and giveaways. After all, who doesn’t want to win something, receive free gifts, or buy goods with discounts?

8. Make your network highly immersive

For a more advanced WiFi marketing strategy, make the login welcome page a full interface where your customers can browse goods and make orders from their table. Not only does it make their buying experience better, but they’ll also appreciate it because it helps them keep their social distance.

9. Provide incentives

Customers love it when they see that you’re always ready to listen to their concerns. Include a customer survey to be filled up in the form of a login welcome page popup. And to encourage them to answer, give a discount for completing the survey.

10. Include COVID-19 safety reminders

Lastly, the business that values its customers’ health promotes loyalty. So show it by reminding your patrons to stay safe when they leave your store. This can be done through an automated message that gets sent when they’ve disconnected from your shop’s network.

One important reminder: To prevent users from staying in your shop for the free connection, set a usage limit and change the password daily. Don’t allow people to connect if you notice that they aren’t buying anything every time they visit your store.
