The quarantines and lockdowns due to the recent pandemic can cause boredom in a lot of people – solopreneurs included.

Without proper guidance or something to entertain us, this entire global health issue may also result in a mental health problem.

But of course, we can’t let that happen. In this article, we’re going to share some ideas for spending your time happily and productively from your home.

Keep reading. 

1. Clean the rooms

Already did that the day before? Dust settles in so clean them again. Also, don’t give bacteria and viruses a chance to settle for a long duration. 

2. Read a business book

It’s time to create a list of ideas and strategies for your business to use once this whole pandemic situation is over!

3. Video calling

It’s actually called physical distancing, not social distancing. Just because you’re not physically together, doesn’t mean you can’t ever connect! Be sure to call them whenever you can. 

4. Take a free online class

Learn new things or a specific topic from the comfort of your home. Invite your partner, kids, or a business partner to make it fun and interactive.

5. Learn a new food recipe

You’ve probably stocked grocery items when the quarantine began. Since you have a variety of foods, why not do a little culinary experiment?

6. Workout

This quarantine makes us eat out of boredom. Be sure to stay healthy and stay fit during this binge-eating inducing season.

7. Learn a new language

Planning to go overseas once this is over? You might as well learn the language of that country you’re going to visit and have a vacation at.

8. Knitting

I like how seniors spend their time. Making clothing or anything out of your own style or fashion can be pretty useful and fun this time. In fact, you can make a new sweater for Christmas!

9. Play online or offline games

Did you know that most gamers don’t treat this whole quarantine situation as normal? That’s because they spend nearly 24/7 playing. Perhaps there’s this one game on your PC or console that you’ve never played because you were super busy at work. Now’s the time to do it. 

10. Pet photo shooting

Share your pet’s cuteness on Instagram or Facebook to uplift other people’s moods under quarantine. It works! 

11. Draw or paint

Let out the inner artist in you and paint what you’ve always wanted to paint or draw what you’ve always wanted to draw. You’d be surprised what a bored mind is capable of…  and who knows? You might be able to sell your art for a good price. 

12. Watch a new series

Remember that TV show that a friend recommended but you didn’t have time to watch? You can take advantage of this situation by binge-watching while the quarantine lasts.

13. Have a virtual museum tour

Learn about the history of the world and other people’s culture by doing online museum tours. You might impress your distant friends and families with the knowledge you’ve acquired while physically distancing.

14. Plant or do gardening

Have you always wanted to grow plants yourself? Gardening will not only keep your mind busy, but the result will also benefit the environment. Not to mention, plants keep your house cool. It is also safe to be outside gardening as long as you stay within the walls of your property. 

15. Write

Start a journal, novel, or simply write a heartfelt letter to people you care about – remember when that was the norm? Set a trend by bringing it back now!

There are a lot of things you can do now that we have more time. Go outside the box. Consider those creative passions, hobbies, or interests that you’ve ignored previously due to being a busy adult. I hope this article helps!
