5 New Year’s Resolution Quotes for Solopreneurs

  • Comments Off on 5 New Year’s Resolution Quotes for Solopreneurs

Every day is a new day. Tomorrow may come but there are always things undone from yesterday that need to be dealt with on the next. But a new year is different. It’s more of a total reset. As a business owner, everything that happened in a previous year should be completed before they’re thrown out the window, and all the new ones are welcomed into the door.

These new things include total changes in marketing strategies, lifestyle, mindset, organizational strategies, relationships with people, and business approaches. One way to start welcoming the new is by adopting resolution quotes. Here are five that will guide you for 2022.

1. “Never look down on anybody unless you’re helping him up.” – Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr.

In business, having a competitive spirit is paramount if you want to outplay your opponents, dominate the market, and maximize your profits. However, ruthlessness and monopoly are never good things. It doesn’t drive innovation, causes the production of low-quality goods, a hostile industry, and other commerce-related problems.

This quote teaches you that collaboration with your competitors is one of the best ways to make a brand survive and succeed, no matter how big or small they are. Not only that, but collaboration also opens a lot of opportunities for profit-boosting and product improvement. We’re only stronger, smarter, and more efficient when working together.

2. “Done is better than perfect.” – Sheryl Sandberg

Most of us love to be perfectionists. We don’t want to call it a day unless the results of our work are exactly what we have envisioned. The problems with that kind of thinking are that everything doesn’t always become how we want it and not everyone likes the way we do things. These will eventually lead to delays and profit losses. Flexibility is the key here.

Release the best form of your products and services first. Then pay attention to criticisms and things you need to improve on. And if there are none, keep on doing what sells best while looking at your competitors for new ideas to take inspiration from.

3. “Begin somewhere; you cannot build a reputation on what you intend to do.” – Liz Smith

You have a vision and a plan but have no will to execute and make them happen. You’ll never go anywhere, let alone achieve anything. Once you have a vision of what your business will be in 2022 and the plan to realize it, find the drive to start doing things as soon as possible.

4. Approach the new year with resolve to find the opportunities hidden in each day.” – Michael Josephson

As mentioned in the intro, the new year is about taking out the old and welcoming the new in. But new opportunities don’t just appear. You also need to actively look for them. This doesn’t only mean going to a lot of places and gathering new experiences.

Searching for business opportunities can also be you trying to correlate simple things to your brand and finding possible advantages in them. The key idea here is being creative and fostering an open mind.

5. “Put your priorities on your calendar, before someone puts theirs on.” – Anonymous

Lastly, if you haven’t put yourself first this year, don’t make the same mistake again in the next. Know what you want and how to get it. If people try to interrupt your grind or your period of self-care, kindly explain your situation and focus on your plans and schedule. It’s not selfishness or narcissism, but self-love and self-care. You and others should understand the differences.

There’s still a week before the yuletide season arrives. Make sure to wrap everything up so you can relax for the remainder of the year. Enjoy your holidays! You deserve it. And finally, Merry Christmas to you!
