Everyday Things That Stress You Out (Watch out for These)

  • Comments Off on Everyday Things That Stress You Out (Watch out for These)

Are you a stressed out solopreneur? Because the first thing you need to do to effectively cope with stress is to identify it first. Surprisingly, there are situations you may not be aware of in your daily life that contribute to your stress. Although stress can be motivating at times, too much of it affects your health and happiness.

Here are the seven surprising stress triggers you should know so you’re able to deal with them. Keep reading.

Watch out for These Things That Stress out Solopreneurs

1. Other people’s stress

If you’re a highly sensitive person, it’s easy to get affected by someone else’s bad mood. It could be your mom, kid, partner, or someone from your team. Realize that while you empathize with others, it’s not good for you to take on their problems.

2. Chocolate snack

You might be shocked to find out that those chocolates you binged on caused those bizarre, nightmarish dreams. Chocolates have psychoactive effects on the brain, and they can enhance bad dreams. (Yes! Even dark chocolate does, unfortunately.)

3. Having a heavy workload

Do you consider yourself an enthusiastic workaholic but often find yourself complaining and losing interest in what you do? More often than not, our bodies tell us that we need a break but we ignore it.

4. Unrealistic expectations

You wake up each morning with a promise that you’ll do everything on your list perfectly before the day ends. But things don’t always go as expected. Setting expectations that are too high and obsessing on details leads to disappointment.

5. Excessive noise

Being exposed with too much noise can have a negative impact on your productivity. If you work from home and there’s a lot of activity that you could hear, protect yourself from it. Remind everyone at home that you’re working or invest in a pair of earplugs.

6. Multitasking

A 2012 study discovered that people who responded to emails all day while trying to get their work done experienced mental stress. Focusing on one task at a time enables you to perform something to the best of your abilities because you get to put all your attention to it.

7. Chronic health issues

Living with a chronic illness may seem normal to you (because you’ve had it for years), but it does increase your stress. Make sure that you’re actively practicing stress management techniques such as meditation or yoga. Don’t neglect regular exercise. Last but not least, learn to manage your emotions.

Final Thoughts

Identifying stress is just the beginning. Also, know that your thought patterns cause you stress. You owe it to yourself to find a way to alleviate it as best as you can as a solopreneur. To your success!
