How to Get More Done with Less Stress

  • Comments Off on How to Get More Done with Less Stress

When it comes to increasing the amount of work to get done, more often than not, we think that stress should happen. But as it turns out, you can become productive while being able to maintain a light, positive mood. At the end of the day, you won’t feel depleted and overwhelmed.

Here are ten tricks you can use:

Getting More Done with Less Stress (Yes, It is possible!)

1. Keep your workspace clutter-free.

A workspace that’s free of clutter allows your mind to focus on what needs to be done in the present moment. Make sure to clean your desk before you start your day. Place each item where it should go.

2. Plan your day!

Why is it important to plan your day? Planning your day helps you prioritize essential tasks and eliminate time-wasters. Obviously, those time-wasters include mindlessly scrolling through social media and reading gossip news.

3. Learn to unplug.

Truth: Technology can ruin your productivity (and life) if you allow yourself to be attached to it. I’m not saying that using your phone is wrong, but there are right and wrong times to do it. Unplugging won’t just refresh your mind, but it’ll also improve your relationships at work.

4. Dedicate time blocks for specific tasks.

Sometimes, we need to get something done to meet a deadline. The problem is, we don’t have much time on our plate. By giving yourself a specific block of time for a task, you’re going to do everything you can to accomplish it – even if it means saying NO to additional requests.

5. Focus on solutions.

Tough times… they happen in business. When they do happen, we tend to panic and lose focus. Remember that challenges are there to help you improve and not hurt you. Analyze your situation in a positive and proactive way.

6. Praise yourself at least once a day.

You deserve a thumbs up! Stop thinking you don’t because you still haven’t reached a major milestone in your business. The little things count. If there’s one encourager you need daily, that’s yourself. Treat yourself to a cup of coffee!

7. Write shorter emails.

If you write multiple emails at once to be sent out to your audience, keep them short and sweet. Not only does this technique save you more time, but it also overcomes people’s short attention spans.

8. Wake up a bit earlier each day.

Getting proper sleep at night is essential to your health. You can still wake up before everyone else does without sacrificing your sleep! Go to bed earlier. Avoid caffeine before bed time. Waking up earlier gives you quiet time and a chance to plan your day.

9. Go slow if you need to.

Faster isn’t always better. Some solopreneurs love speed. Others like to take more time because it gives them space to breathe and clear their thoughts. Go slow if you think it helps with your productivity.

10. Don’t beat yourself up.

Just because you didn’t beat the clock, doesn’t mean you’re a failure. Negative self-talk takes away your energy and motivation to try again. Understand that no person is perfect. Be patient and kind to yourself.
