We’ve heard it time and again: How you spend your morning sets the tone for the day. Mornings symbolize new hopes and dreams. When you start off on the right foot by adopting a good routine, when everybody else is still struggling to wake up or just heading to bed, there’s so much you can achieve.

Here are some early morning productivity hacks that deserve a place on your solopreneur success list. Let’s explore them together.

1. Get ready the night before.

You would hate to admit it but mornings are the usual times anxiety sets in. People are always in a hurry to prepare their breakfast or take the kids to school. Don’t sleep without planning ahead. This eases your transition of starting the following day. It reduces worry and stress.

2. Wake up with a positive mindset.

There’s no need for you to wake up feeling tense. You have to train your brain to stop expecting for negative things when having an awesome day is so possible. Yesterday’s events in your solopreneur business may not have been that great, but you have a choice not to allow them to interfere with what you can do the next day. Always be hopeful and looking forward to a better performance.

3. Eat a healthy breakfast.

The first meal of your day plays an important role in your performance. Food gives you the raw materials that help you think, move, and feel well. Think of a healthy breakfast as good fuel that keeps you going. A busy solopreneur like you needs a mix of protein, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates. Skip pre-packaged foods since they contain a lot of sodium and additives. Choose real food.

4. Spend time in meditation.

To take good care of your business, you need to take care of your mental health. Successful solopreneur businesses require good decision making. Meditating in the morning gives you uninterrupted time for peace. It rewires your brain, clearing up your thoughts. Your awareness increases and you tackle challenges with a strong mind.

5. Eat the frog first.

Perhaps one of the best things to make your mornings more productive (and the rest of your day too) is to tackle the most important or hardest task. Think of that one thing you could prioritize first that will make you feel most accomplished when done. Because if you don’t tackle it, you’d be more likely to procrastinate. As a solopreneur, this task can be a blog post, a podcast episode, or a social media update for your followers. It can also be your daily exercise routine.

6. Work in a better environment.

This may be common knowledge but yes, working in an environment that makes you happy and less distracted enhances your productivity. Take a look at your home office now and assess if it allows you to concentrate. Ideas to perk up your personal space include adding greenery, natural lighting, and an ergonomic chair. Don’t forget to declutter!

7. Turn off social media.

Reserve your habit of scrolling through News Feed after you accomplished most of your solopreneur work in the morning. A few seconds of mindlessly checking your Facebook notifications can easily turn into minutes. If you have to respond to business audience’s comments on your post, set aside time for it. Solopreneurs will also benefit from social media management tools that save them time in manually publishing their posts.
