As a solopreneur, you should be striving to become better as the days, months, and years go by. When you invest in self-growth, you become a role model to others — to your partners, clients, and team. More opportunities for success come your way. You will always have a clear purpose.
All of these things impact your business. Interested in learning some self-improvement hacks? Check our list of seven hacks below.
1. Read a book every day.
There is so much to gain by reading books. Books help you become more aware of yourself. They develop your creativity and problem-solving skills by presenting you with new perspectives. Even committing yourself to reading just one page a day does wonders.
2. Get a new hobby.
The solopreneur life gets boring when you don’t have fun. It’s not all work, work, work. Picking up a new hobby will not only allow your brain to relax, but it’ll also develop your passions and interests. Who knows? That hobby may turn out to be a business niche one day.

3. Use time blocks to stay on task.
If you often find yourself distracted, use time blocking. It’s a powerful hack where you dedicate a specific time frame for a task and nothing else. For example, from 3:00-4:00 pm, you’d only respond to business emails. From 4:30-5:00 pm, you’d only make next day’s to-do list. You’ll realize how faster you’d get things done by using time blocks.
4. Meditate first thing in the morning.
Morning is a perfect time to meditate because your mind is fresh from sleep, and it’s more quiet. A lot of us wake up checking emails and notifications without knowing that doing so ruins our focus. Meditation helps you to become more mindful of your time.
5. Always be around positive people.
You are the average of the five people you spend most of your time with. I believe this saying simply because the people who are closest to you affect your thoughts and decisions without you realizing it. If you want to be a happy solopreneur, be with happy people. If you want to be smarter, read more books by great authors.
6. Write a letter to your future self.
Do you have a goal for yourself in the future? Do you dream of being able to do this and that in business, but right now you seem stuck? Whatever you want your future self to become, write a letter and open it after a year. Start working on the things you wrote in your letter. You will be amazed with the fact that change is constant.
7. Stop one bad habit.
What’s one bad habit that you believe can affect your business? Whether it’s not exercising, procrastinating, or saying unkind words to yourself, promise to stop that habit. Remember that a habit has the power to control your life.
