Essential Productivity Tips for Mompreneurs

  • Comments Off on Essential Productivity Tips for Mompreneurs

I’ve met mom solopreneurs who are super successful in what they do. The reason why I want to share this with you is that a lot of people think that just because they’ve become parents, they can no longer pursue a passion.

Even if you’re juggling household and meeting the needs of your family, there’s no reason why you can’t build a thriving business. I know what you’re thinking — that it’s a lot of work.

What you need are practical productivity hacks that help you get more things done without burning out. Interested? Keep reading.

1. Plan your day the night before.

You might have heard this piece of advice a million times but it always works. Writing down or knowing what you’ll be accomplishing for the day allows you to focus and prevents you from doing random things that consume your energy.

2. Give yourself permission to be imperfect.

While it’s important to set goals, you must also accept the fact that sometimes, things won’t go as planned. You get stressed. Your kid gets sick. You forget to do an important chore at home. The last thing you should do is to judge yourself. Life will always be imperfect and that’s normal.

3. Keep your kids busy!

If you have toddlers or pre-schoolers, you’ll have a hard time focusing on business tasks. Here’s a useful trick: Give your child something that’ll keep his mind and hands busy. Let your child draw, paint, or watch a movie.

4. Batch cook your meals.

Admit it, cooking consumes a lot of time that can be spent on your solopreneur business. I’m not saying that you should stop cooking because home prepared meals are healthier. Why not batch cook during the weekend? Good options that can be stored in the freezer for days include meatballs, soups, casseroles, and pies.

5. Use apps that help you work on the go.

There are plenty of apps that allow you to work on your business from anywhere. So it doesn’t matter if you’re waiting in line at the supermarket or taking your kid to school. For example, Buffer lets you create and schedule social media posts using your phone. Trello is another useful app for managing your solopreneur projects.

Final Thoughts

I hope that this productivity list helps mompreneurs or those who are still thinking of becoming a mompreneur. Don’t forget to care for your health and well-being. Take each day as it comes. Remember, it’s all about progress.
