Do you get this feeling of dread as you wake up in the morning? You think about your long list of solopreneur tasks. Not just that, but you also imagine all the things that could go wrong if you don’t accomplish your list. 

Morning anxiety is real, and it happens to a lot of solopreneurs. While being anxious from time to time is normal, it can destroy your focus. Anxiety lowers your energy levels. It keeps you from appreciating and making the most out of today.

In this guide, I’ll be sharing five helpful ways to decrease morning anxiety. You deserve to have a great day! Don’t waste your time fretting about the future. 

1. First and foremost, identify your top 3 morning stressors.

There are surely parts of your morning routine that create stress. It’s just that you’re less aware of them. Right now, I want you to think about your typical morning. Go through all the things you do. Assess how you feel towards a certain task. Is one of the anxiety-provoking habits checking your emails? Is it the fact that you always hit the snooze button? 

2. Play a relaxing song. 

Music has the power to spark positive feelings. Start your day right by playing tunes that motivate you and boost your self-confidence. How about “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” by The Beach Boys or “Run The World” by Beyonce? You decide. You can even play some classical music if that calms your nerves!

3. Quit thinking about perfection.

Most people wake up imagining how their day is supposed to go. Surely, this “ideal” day is free from distractions. The reality is that life is imperfect. Have a spare tire. Meaning, decide that you’re going to have the extra patience and a positive attitude to face whatever situation arises.

4. Get your body moving.

One of the best ways to drastically reduce morning anxiety is to workout. Any type of exercise, whether that’s running, taking a brisk walk outside, or strength training, stabilizes your mood. Exercise releases feel-good brain chemicals called endorphins. 

5. Eat the right breakfast.

Research shows that food can affect your mood. To improve how you feel, eat foods that have the power to calm your nerves. Choose unprocessed, low-sugar foods. Try salmon with eggs, chia pudding, and almond nuts. If coffee makes you jittery and anxious, kick the habit of drinking it. Try a probiotic drink or sparkling water instead.

Final Thoughts

Anxiety happens for a reason. Improve your mornings by following these tips. Remember that the best way to remove morning anxiety is to get to the root of the problem. Also, know that you don’t have to deal with it alone. Open up to someone who can listen. Outsource when needed.
